Last week the ‘Talk About The Future’ workshop conducted by Talk the Talk for 25 Year 12 students was a valuable initiative aimed at equipping students with essential skills and mindsets as they prepare to transition from school or college into the next phase of their lives. The workshop focused on developing competencies that are crucial for facing the challenges of the future with confidence and resilience.

Talk the Talk, known as one of England and Wales’ leading providers of oracy intervention, has a reputation for delivering impactful programs. In this particular workshop, our students engaged in a variety of activities designed to foster qualities such as confidence, resilience, and a positive mindset. These skills are not only crucial for academic success but also for personal and professional development as students navigate post-secondary education and employment.

The main goal of the workshop was to enhance students’ connections with potential employers, colleges, and universities. By participating in activities that encouraged effective communication and interpersonal skills, the students were better equipped to speak their thoughts, present themselves confidently, and establish meaningful connections with institutions and professionals.

This type of intervention is essential in preparing students for the real-world challenges they will face after leaving school or college. The emphasis on oracy skills not only enhances academic performance but also empowers students to express themselves effectively, which is a valuable asset in various aspects of life. Overall, the ‘Talk About The Future’ workshop provided students with practical tools and experiences to navigate their future paths with confidence and purpose.
