On an extremely cold and damp Tuesday in November, a group of 20 students spent time planting trees in memory of their much missed friend Emily. The weather was bitter and the ground was tough, but the students wrapped up warm and got their hands mucky in memory of their friend. The planting took place over the course of the day and saw 28 saplings planted. We will notice a marked difference in the spring as the saplings develop in the are just beyond the hockey pitch. The trees planted, which make the shape of the garden will grow to be around 4ft, with these hopefully flourishing in spring each year.

This will become a memorial garden with a Horse Chestnut tree to be added to the centre and a bench so that students can visit the area and have a place to remember Emily. The garden is in a quiet place and will hopefully become a staple of the school’s community.
